Day 01: Abroad - Trivandrum - Varkala

On arrival at Trivendrum airport one of our representatives will meet and greet you and then take you to “Varkala” via road. Reach Varkala and accommodate in a pre booked accommodation or else you can enjoy the Varkala beaches at the time of sunset at your own choice. Have an overnight stay at the hotel/resort.

Day 02: Varkala

After taking a breakfast at Varkala you will start the exploration of the city Varkala including all the decent places of Varkala like a beautiful Papanasam beach (also called as Varkala beach). Varkala is famous for its dense sands and red cliff. You can enjoy the Ayurveda body therapy on the beach area at Varkala. Next visit Janardhanaswamy Temple and have a look at the beautiful view of sunset on the beach of Varkala. Return back to the hotel by evening for an overnight stay at Varkala.

Day 03: Varkala - Kumarakom

This is the most memorable morning of the entire trip as we are going to move out towards the only backwater destinations of India that is Kumarakom. Have an early breakfast and check out from the hotel to drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is also famous for its lots of Mangrove Forests, Paddy Fields and canals which make the tourists speechless. On arrival get transfers to the pre-booked hotel. After freshen up we will travel to Kumarakom bird sanctuary situated on the border of backwater with many kinds of raspberries and other small species and later indulge your remain day with local sightseeing in and around Kumarakom - a tiny backwater small village nestled along the westerly bank of the Vembanad Lake. The area of backwater is extended over 1000 sq. km. on a Kerala Backwaters Houseboat; you can enjoy the charm of this backwater heaven at its best. Enjoy also today’s night stay in Kumarakom.

Day 04: Kumarakom – Cochin

After a wet full experience in Kumarakom, move towards “Kochi” also known as the queen of the Arabian Sea. Reach there and accommodate in a pre-booked accommodation. Rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening go to watch the famous cultural Kathakali dance performance which tells the story of Kerala’s history. Have an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Cochin

This morning after breakfast in the afternoon we will take you to explore Cochin which includes Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue Dutch Palace, Historical Fort Cochin and many more. After an exploration tour of Kochi city, in evening move towards the backwater of Kochi which present the most breathtaking view with water birds, wild flowers and lush greenery along their bank. Enjoy your over night stay here.

Day 06: Cochin - Thekkady

On this 6th day of your tour have breakfast and start drive to Thekkady famously known for its greenery and Periyar wildlife reserve. Reach Periyar and get transferred to hotel. After freshen up visit Periyar wildlife reserve to see different animals like elephant and tigers. Next visit spice plantations to understand the farming of spices like cardamom, cinnamon, pepper etc. and also see how they are planting and prepared before they are sold in the markets. By the evening enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar. Come back to the hotel for an overnight stay at Periyar Hotel.

Day 07: Thekkady - Trivandrum

Have an early breakfast as we are about to move towards the largest and the capital city of the state Kerala: Trivendrum. On arrival done with all the check in formalities and then set out for a brief sightseeing tour of Trivandrum, start with visiting the famous Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu which is outstanding example of Indian architecture, next visit Zoological Park (closed on Mondays), Napier Museum, Sri Chitra Art Gallery etc. after all come back to hotel for an overnight stay in hotel.

Day 08: Departure

As this is the last day of tour so have a relaxed breakfast and end your tour at Trivandrum with happy and sweet memories cannot forgettable offered by Greenland Journey. One of our representatives will drop you off at Trivandrum Airport/Railway Station to board the flight/train for your onward travel of back to home.
