A hill station in Maharashtra, the beauty of Lonavala cannot be fully explored in a single day. But the following itinerary will be of help, if you are planning a trip to Lonavala for a day only.
08.00 Hours
It’s always better to start early morning when on a one day trip as you will have less time to explore the place. Before you head out from your hotel after having breakfast, start drive to Lonavala, a journey of around 90 Km.
10.00 Hours
After travel a distance of around 90 km from you will reach the popular Lonavala, proceed to sightseeing covering Rajmachi Point -which is located about 6.5 km from Lonavla. This point commands a view of Shivaji's famous fort, Rajmachi (Royal terrakouioce) and the surrounding valley.. The famous Vaghjai Dari is also located here.
Ryewood Park and Shivaji Udyan: This is an extensive garden situated in Lonavla. The garden covers a lot of ground and it is full of tall trees. There is an old Shiva temple in the park. The garden has plenty of places for children to play. Also see Tungarli Lake, Valvan Dam, and Lonavla Lake.

Post lunch visit Karla Caves located near Lonavla, is a complex of cave shrines built by Buddhist monks around 3rd to 2nd century B.C. A famous temple of Goddess Ekvira Devi is also present here.
Lohagad Fort & Bhushi Dam: A robust climb of about 11.2 km from Malavali Railway Station takes you to the 'Iron Fort', once a formidable battle-station of Shivaji. The fort commands a view of the surrounding hills and hamlets.

In evening return back to Mumbai on arrival drop at hotel / Airport.
